The morphological characteristic of the brown algae Padina pavonica (class Phaeophyceae) called brown algae with white cones or Peacock algae is the presence of thalli (fronds or parasols) bleached by limestone forming concentric circles of sizes ranging between 5 and 10 cm.
This so-called "calcifying" algae or calcified algae deposits calcium carbonate crystals on its fronds at 240 g/m-2/y-1, the highest rate of calcified algae. Thus, the brown alga Padina pavonica is able to regulate the fixation of calcium on the extracellular matrix of its fronds. Being composed of a calcified skeleton, the brown alga Padina pavonica is able to maintain the function of the bone cells by restructuring the extracellular matrix.
INTEREST :
Like all tissues, the bone is in constant renewal thanks to a continual cooperation between two cell populations: osteoclasts (responsible for bone resorption) and osteoblasts (responsible for bone formation). The mineral density and the quality of the micro-architectural structure of a bone are maintained by the balance of this remodeling balance.
During aging, there is both a decrease in osteoblast activity and an increase in the activity of osteoclasts thus disturbing the balance. This imbalance results in a significant loss of organic and mineral substances with a decrease in bone density and weakening of the bones thus increasing the risk of fractures and joint pain.
Our research shows that the natural extract of the seaweed Padina pavonica (patented under the name of EPP™) stops the aging process of the bone, joints, tendons ... by inducing an increase of the synthesis glycosaminoglycans (heparan sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid) components of the extracellular matrix. The preservation of the microarchitecture of the extracellular matrix is a fundamental step in the biomineralization process. In our in vitro studies, the total extract of Padina pavonica induces an increase in calcium fixation by osteoblasts, even in degenerative conditions.
In addition, our work has demonstrated that the total extract of Padina pavonica allows a constant balance of the c-Jun / c-Fos transcription factors to be maintained for optimal expression of the cell phenotype, even in the presence of pro-active agents. inflammatory drugs such as interleukin I.

DIRECTION FOR USE :
1 tablet per day, orally for an animal weighing from 1kg to 15kg.
2 tablets per day, orally for an animal weighing more than 15kg.
The duration of use varies depending on the needs, from a few weeks to several months.
COMPOSITION:
One tablet of DICTYOLONE® V contains the seaweed Padina pavonica, EPP™ which is 50mg of the organic part of dry plants.
Other ingredients: Chondroitin sulfate, D-glucosamine, Microcrystalline cellulose, SiO2, Talc, Magnesium Stearate.
